The Stables at Apalachee is a new boarding facility located near Madison, Georgia. While looking to start a business, we, Larry & Lisa Oglesby, decided to combine our love of family with our love of horses. We found this 40-acre property early in 2008 and fell in love with its beauty and close vicinity to other equestrian facilities. Located just north of Madison, Georgia, we are convenient to Watkinsville, University of Georgia, Athens, and Lake Oconee. Our property adjoins several respected training facilities: Rhythm and Balance, Four Seasons Farm, and Stone Creek Eventing. Future plans include a covered arena, parking areas for cars and horse trailers, and pony ride parties. Join us and watch us grow for you!

Lots of exciting improvements going on here! A 100'x200' outdoor arena is being constructed near the barn. We hired Piedmont Grading and & Pipeline, Inc., to do the site work. Directions to The Stables at Apalachee

FROM MADISON: From the intersection of US441/US129/GA24 and US278/GA12, go north on US441. Follow for 4 miles. Cross Sandy Creek, and immediately turn right into Plantation Road. Go 1.5 miles, and turn left at our sign. The address is 1600 Plantation Road.

FROM ATHENS: Take US441/US129/GA24 south toward Madison. Go through Bishop and Farmington. In Apalachee, pass the Rainbow BP on the left. Continue down a long hill, and at the bottom, turn left into Plantation Road. (If you cross Sandy Creek, you went too far.) Go 1.3 miles, and turn left at our sign (1600 Plantation Road).

FROM MONROE: Take US78/GA10 East. Turn right onto GA83/Unisia Drive. At the stop sign, turn left onto GA83. Go 11 miles into Bostwick. Upon leaving Bostwick, take a left onto Apalachee Road. At the end of Apalachee Road, turn left onto US441/US129/GA24 (Athens Highway). Go 1.8 miles and turn left onto Plantation Road. If you cross Sandy Creek, you've gone too far. Go 1.3 miles and turn left into our driveway (1600 Plantation Road).

FROM ATLANTA: Take I-20 east to Exit 114 (Madison). At the top of the ramp turn left. Go about 1/4 mile to a traffic light.* You'll see a RiteAid store on the right. Turn right onto US441/US129/GA24 and follow this road for 8.2 miles. Cross Sandy Creek, and immediately turn right onto Plantation Road. Go 1.3 miles, and turn left at our sign at 1600 Plantation Road.

FROM AUGUSTA: Take I-20 about an hour and a half west to exit 114 (Madison). Exit the interstate and turn right. Go about 1/4 mile to a traffic light.* You'll see a RiteAid store on the right. Turn right onto US441/US129/GA24 and follow this road for 8.2 miles. Cross Sandy Creek, and immediately turn right onto Plantation Road. Go 1.3 miles, and turn left at our sign. The address is 1600 Plantation Road.

*Alternatively, go straight through the light and continue on through the lovely town of Madison. Go 3.8 miles and turn left onto US441/US129/GA24. Follow this road for 4 miles. Cross Sandy Creek, and immediately turn right into Plantation Road. Go 1.5 miles, and turn left at our sign. The address is 1600 Plantation Road.
